EENSW is committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas and their rich contribution to society. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.

Goal 1: Lead for an ambitious climate emergency response and advocate for education for sustainability.


a) Deliver our Climate Emergency Response Plan: supporting environmental educators to communicate an inspiring vision of the regenerative future we can create by limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

b) Deliver our Net Zero Emissions by 2022 Plan.

c) Lobby state and federal government for increased funding and recognition for education for sustainability.

Goal 2: Empower environmental educators and build their capacity to be the best they can be.


a) Coordinate Sustainable Schools NSW

c) Support the NSW Environmental Education Conference

d) Deliver the NSW Environmental Education Awards and scholarship programs.

e) Support the NSW Regional Sustainability Education Networks.

f) Facilitate the Sustainability Connect online directory of sustainability education service providers and products.
