Conferences

Learn about opportunities to attend our state and national conferences.

EENSW is proud to be in its fifth decade of delivering conferences for environmental educators. These conferences are a key point of connection and collaboration for our community, providing inspiration, practical solutions and combined purpose.

Our 2026  NSW Environmental Education Conference Learning for Change will be held 8-9 October, Surry Hills. Find out more here.

AAEE members receive discounted rates and access to special offers. The conferences are open to all interested parties across all sectors and we welcome a diverse range of presentations and sponsorship.

Conferences

The NSW state conference is delivered biennially and every other year we attend the national AAEE conference, or co-convene it in the years that it’s held in NSW.

Our state conferences are run across a range of locations in metropolitan and regional NSW, often in partnership with a local organisation including councils, EZECs, universities, cultural institutions and community environment groups. The conferences have attracted thousands of participants from diverse backgrounds and have a proud history of mixing EE research with practice in a local community context.

Our recent conferences include:

  • 2024, Learning for Change, yalbilinya nganhagu hurray, Charles Sturt University, Albury
  • 2023, Listening to Country, Learning Together and Transforming the Future, University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Co-hosted the National AAEE Conference,
  • 2022, University of Newcastle, Ourimbah Central Coast
  • 2019, Active Nature: Learning, Citizenship and Activism for Sustainability, Kirrawee High School, Kirrawee.
  • 2017, Make the Change, Lane Cove, Sydney.
