Sustainable Schools NSW, a program of AAEE NSW, recently hosted a free webinar to help teachers and parents learn the tips and tricks for applying for an Eco Schools grant from the NSW Environmental Trust.
To ensure all schools have access to the advice and resources, you can watch a recording of the webinar here and download the supporting presentation slides here.
Good luck to all schools applying for a 2019 Eco Schools grant!
About the Eco Schools Grants
The Eco Schools grants program funds environmental management projects that promote learning opportunities for students, teachers and the community. It is run by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.
The Eco Schools program funds schools to provide hands-on environmental education with strong student participation.
The program funds projects that feature:
- environmental benefits – more efficient resource use and/or improvements to the local environment
- student participation – the development of knowledge, values and behaviour that support environmental sustainability
- teacher engagement – access to professional development and help with integrating environmental management with other aspects of the curriculum
- partnership with the community – schools and the community exploring opportunities to work together to promote sustainability.
In 2019, there are 80 grants of $3500 available and all registered schools in NSW are eligible to apply. The Trust particularly encourages projects for students with special needs.
Applications close 3pm on Monday 1 July 2019
