We’re excited to give you a sneak peek into the planning for our 2019 AAEE NSW Environmental Education Conference…
Active in Nature. Active for Nature. Active by Nature
Learning, Citizenship and Activism for Sustainability
3 – 5 October 2019
Kirrawee High School
The 2019 AAEE NSW biennial conference is being planned and run in partnership with Sutherland Shire Environment Centre. A first for both organisations! Our venue, Kirrawee High School overlooks the Royal National Park.
The conference title invites exploration of how our education work can tap into and support responsible citizenship and a sense of activism. The event will look at learning pathways to being active in and for nature and will seek the participation of a wide range of community organisations. It will include a youth stream and robust conversations about sustainability journeys. It may include busking for the planet, a tree planted for every participant, Short Hits of Training – SHOTs (with coffee? or on goal?), day and evening bush walks in the Royal… and more ideas to come!
So, save the date (3-5 October 2019) and keep a watch out for more details as they emerge from a very engaged and excited Conference Working Group!
